White Sand Beaches in Punta Ballo, Sipalay, Negros Occidental

Monday, July 2, 2012

Date of Travel: April 3, 2012

I am a kind of person who would prefer a kind of thing that is out of the mainstream. When it comes to travel, I prefer a not-so-crowded place. Here in the Philippines, several common and already commercialized destinations for tourists are Baguio, Bohol, Cebu, Palawan and Boracay.  Only few of them knew that there are other outstanding places to explore in the Philippines. As they try to have a perfect getaway from their busy lives from where they came from, they can try exploring the beautiful city of Sipalay in the province of Negros Occidental. One of the best beaches available in Sipalay can be found at Brgy. IV, the Punta Ballo beach coast.

Siquijor Bonfire Camping in Secluded Paliton Beach

Date of Travel: April 9, 2012

Siquijor, the island of mystics and witchcraft, as they say is an island of beauty and magnificence in the eyes of those who truly can see!  Siquijor doesnt have any airport and the only way on or off the island province is by boat from Dumaguete . Dumaguete to Siquijor is about an hour ride. In fact it is now mostly commercialized with expensive and high class resorts and beaches in San Juan. But for peace seeker like me, finding a quiet secluded beautiful place in Siquijor would be a challenge. But many thanks that we even stumble upon a place I want called Paliton Beach.

I am not really a fan of falls or springs or lakes, however I came across a blog of my friend, Edcel, and saw his adventures around Negros Oriental. One of them is trekking towards Casaroro falls. Most bloggers would say that Casaroro Falls takes one back several years when man and nature coexisted in harmony. According to legend, the name was derived from the word 'Casa ni Roro' or in English 'Roro's house'.

I've been hearing a lot of things regarding Apo Island which made me so interested to go there as well. Most of my foreign guests here in Cebu is telling me that I should go there myself too. So here's my trip... we didn't know that it was their fiesta celebration.. We were so lucky! Many thanks to councilor Jerry Mendez for letting us camp for free and our host Henry Lumanog for allowing us to camp right in front of their house. ^_^ Also, many thanks to Mr. Walter for scheduling our dinner in their humble house.

HOW TO GET THERE

Spending the Night in Moalboal, Cebu

Saturday, April 28, 2012

Date of Travel: March 3, 2012

Spending too much time in the City had finally made me think about escaping the city's heat and busy life. It was a perfect timing for my friend, Francis, since he was hosting an Iranian national (Hamid) but got no time of touring him around Cebu. So I volunteered to be Hamid's tour guide provided that he would go along with my plan for the weekend. So he said, yes and he is cool with everything. I said: "Alright then let's go to Moalboal and Badian over the weekend." He just gave me a smirk without hesitation.
